Zune HD to offer gaming features

Microsoft's iPod Touch competitor the Zune HD will offer handheld gaming features, it has been revealed.

Rumours that the device would be compatible with games began to circulate in January. The reports were recently confirmed when an advertisement for the system displayed a clip of it running a racing title.

The latest iteration of the media device will support touch-screen compatibility, coming in 16GB and 32GB capacities. In addition to playing music, video and games, the high definition system can pick up digital radio and WI-FI connectivity.

It was previously announced that the Zune marketplace will be integrated into the Xbox Live service, giving users access to movie, television and music downloads. A scaled-down version of the storefront will be available through the device itself.

The Zune HD is released on September 15.
