Asthma Facts

Asthma is an inflammatory disorder of the airways, and if not properly managed, can be a life threatening disease.


1. The World health Organization (WHO) estimates that 300 million people around the world suffer from asthma.

2. According to WHO, exposure to indoor allergens such as dust mites in bedding, carpets and stuffed toys, and outdoor allergens such as pollen, mold and tobacco smoke, are the biggest risk factors of developing asthma. Haze aggravates asthma symptoms.

3. Asthma can occur among the elderly.
